hi all I have noticed on my 230sl the the gearbox lever or shifter drops out of its socket has anyone had this problem or is it normal any help thanks

Your Gear shift bushings are warn and need replacing. There is a heap of instructions here on the forum, just search gear shift bushings. Its a relative simple job to do.
