Broken speedo, looking for a shaft
« on: December 13, 2015, 19:05:33 »
Hello,

On the way back from the 2014 European Event, on a bump on the highway, my pagoda's speedo suddenly stopped.
I waited til this winter to try to repair it; I checked first the cable, but it was OK.
I took of the speedo and sent it to John D. Ostik, who already repaired my pagoda's clock.

Unfortunately, John just returned the speedo : the main input shaft has 'sheared off' where the 'magnet' connects (see photo). He could'nt do anything.

I have now the choice between two solutions :
- find and buy another speedo (new or used),
- or, less expensive, but more difficult find a shaft from a used non working speedo.

I make an appeal : do you have an old speedo in your garage, with a good shaft ?

Best regards

I have an old speedo partly dismantled in the shed that has the shaft in it.  PM me your address details and I will pull it apart and send the part to you.  Thats the good news.
I have dismantled it down to this point but cannot see how the shaft is removed.  I can send you the lot if you wish.
The bad news is that we am going away later today and will not be back until the end of the month so it may be a few weeks before I get a chance to post.
