Vin # help?
« on: October 17, 2004, 15:31:29 »
Hello,

I am about to purchase a 64 230 sl with vin # 11304210006679

Can anyone give me any information that that tells us?

It is a euro model...Also not sure exactly what that means...Does that make the car less/more valuable?

Thank you

The VIN is as follows: "113" is the Pagoda group of SL's; "042" the car is a 230 SL; "10" means lefthand drive with manual transmission; "06679" is the production sequence number (the 6,679th 230 SL made) and, according to our database, the car was produced about October 1964.

A Euro model means that a car was made for sale in Europe and not North America. For a 230 SL, the major difference was in the style of the headlights. No significant price difference for a Euro model.

A Data Card might be with the car, this will tell you a lot more such as original options and equipment, colors etc.

Hi, I've got -6576.  Sept 1964, I think.
