Found. Another hidden production number
« on: February 17, 2016, 16:57:38 »
I removed my door panels to replace the worn elastic on the soft door pockets. I addition to the production number being written in wax on the back of the door card I also found this stamped on the back of the soft pocket leather. Looks like we may have a way to tell if the door panels are original without removing them. Don't know if this applies to MB-Tex as well.

Sorry, Tyler :o;

It's absolutely correct what you found on your car.
Basically all leather parts (at least) were numbered with the chassis type (e.g. 113 042) and the production number.
Don't know exactly about MB-Tex...., but I think so too.

Door panels are numbered anyway - independent from leather or not.

All best, ;)
