It is supposed to have slight bend on both sides from the centre axle (thread and nipple form the axle).
This is to conform to the hood shape.

From the picture itself it is hard to say if it is right amount of 'bend'

Something in the second picture doesn't look quite right. Dry fit it to the hood and see if it lays like its supposed to. The hood has a slight curvature to it. If not send it back. Is that a Mercedes part? The edges of it look really rough like it was a cast part. I believe the Mercedes emblems were stamped.

Here is a photo of an original that I have kept as a spare. There is a very slight bend.

Just checked my spare, it is pretty much like the one John shows, a very, very slight bend.

It almost looks as if the left side is bent. Hard to see with pictures. It should have a slight curvature to it. The sides sloping down away from the center.

Thanks for all of your opinions--
I took the badge to the body shop and it is in fact bent--
I have to return it

Does anyone have one to sell?

Can you get the metal ones again?  For awhile it was plastic only.

The back should be filled smooth. I do not think the one you have is even for a W113. Keep your heart medication close by when you check on the price of a new one from MB.

Front and back of mine. Never noticed the hairline crack on the back until I saw this photo on my 27" Mac :'(
