Door Skins Question
« on: March 16, 2016, 23:13:19 »
I need help understanding what is correct when buying/replacing new door MB Tex door skins.. My car is at the shop (for months) and I have no reference point.

I was told that the armrests are plastic molded do not get covered. Is this true?  I was told to clean them up and call it a day.  I also heard that they can be sprayed.  I have also heard that some companies sell the vinyl skins with additional fabric and that they stitched.  Lastly, I heard that sticking is done only to leather because it is hard to spray the handles to match the leather.

What is the correct way of doing it????
Thank you in advance for your help.

Armrests on the doors (mid 250SL's and all 280SL's) are left as is(molded rubberized foam with vinyl covering) and the leather interiors had leather wrapped tightly over the same vinyl ones.

The 230's and early 250's had the wrapped fabric over the armrests.
