Top Cable Repair
« on: April 20, 2016, 11:19:01 »
I need to rejoin the eyelet to the tension wire/cable that pulls the convertible top down along the top of the door window.  I had seen where someone indicated this could be re-soldered and I was curious whether there was any experience in doing this, e.g. type of solder, flux, preparation, etc.  Or whether the wire and eyelet were taken to someone to do the repair - what type of shop that might have been?

Thanks very much,
Harry

Harry, the eyelets are crimped into place and generally not reuseable. You will also have a problem with length.
New cables are available for about $30 a set. Scroll down to the middle of this link.
