Hi--
I have a 1965 230SL that has not been started in 20 years.
I cleaned all the fuses and fuse blocks. I cleaned The battery connector wire ends and installed new connector ends. I installed a new battery. The ground connection is clean and unpainted.
The headlights, tailights and radio work.
Not working are:
The fuel pump, the turn signals nor the high beams, the windshield wipers, the blower motor and the instrument lights.
Also, although free, the engine does not turn over, nor does the solenoid or starter engage.
Does this sound like the result of the ignition electrical switch failure?
A new switch one was included in the box of parts that came when I bought the car.
After reading in another thread that replacement is a one day job, I thought that I would ask first before spending the day only to discover that is not the problem.
Thanks in advance for your usual kind assistance.
