VIN Research from MB
« on: June 05, 2016, 17:06:51 »
does anyone know which website or Mercedes Benz contact can check my VIN and give me
information, such as who the original purchase went to etc?
my car is a 112 Cabriolet and has a plate on the dash that show's STRAND Hotell in Stockholm.
I'm trying to figure out who the original owner was.

thank you

Mercedes-Benz do not disclose information about who bought a specific vehicle etc. No way.

However, with the data card for your car you can determine to where the car was delivered. You will find Dealer and Country Codes list in the tech manual section of this website.
If in square "Auftragsnr" you see x569xx it was delivered in Sweden.

How about a picture of this dash plate?
Back in the day hotels used to rent their own cars. Is it possible this was once one of them?
Maybe contact the hotel for a back round history lesson of what the plate was for?

So translated this is "Owners name and Residence". appears the hotel once owned the car.
I doubt they would still have records at that hotel but worth a shot.

The experts in the Swedish M-B club determine this 300SE cab to be sold in Sweden 1964; metallic beige 462 with cocnaq leather interior.
Sold abroad (USA?) in the 1980's
