rubber boot mats?

Any recommendations on where to purchase a rubber boot mat for a 280?

In the States, KKMfg shows "call for availability", Buds Benz has them listed on their site at US$439. SLS only showed the small mat.

SLS do the carpet version which is actually very nice! They didn't have rubber in stock last time I spoke to heiko there.

Personally I advise owners to have a carpet instead of rubber; it gives less condensation and therefore longer boot floor life.

From what I have seen the eBay mat is the only new on currently available that is correct for our cars.  It was molded with an edge of approximately 19mm around the perimeter.  The rest are simply cut out of a sheet of ribbed rubber.  There is a rumor that Mercedes is looking into having more made and sine the show judging standard is original or whatever is currently supplied by Mercedes Benz those mats will also be correct.

Since it would be very expensive to produce a new mold to recreate the original trunk mat I assume any later mats from Mercedes will not have the 19mm edge.

Another option is using cocomats in the trunk. I have that on my W111 and they are super durable.

In case you don't know, Cocomats will make that mat without the rubber bottom. That's how I had it made in an effort to allow the trunk floor to "breath".
I do need an original one also. I'm hoping MB comes up with something very nice. I'm not in a rush.

The cocomats with the rubber bottom usually have dimples on the backside and should in theory allow some air between the rubber sheet and the trunk floor. But if you experience heavy condensation in your situation, probably best to do away with the rubber bottom. I would imagine it's main function is to hold the dirt from falling all the way through, making it easier to clean.

I've had my cocomat with a rubber bottom over an original rubber mat for 10 years and my original trunk floor still looks like new.  Unless you have moisture in the trunk for some reason, rubber appears to be a non-issue.  My car has a pampered life, climate controlled garages, driven on nice days (6000 miles), never washed in 10 years!

They are custom made and I do believe they have a pattern for the W113.

Even if the folks at Cocomats don't have the pattern, it is not a tough thing to get done. I have had several custom mats made for other cars.

When you contact them, they will get you set up. I had a large piece of brown paper that I just laid in the area (back of E wagon), cut it to fit with a pair of scissors, sent it back to them and they made the mat (with the indentions for the hold down connections). It was a perfect fit.
