Pagoda Pedal Car!
« on: April 12, 2016, 21:13:16 »
So even before Tre was born we were looking for a Pagoda Pedal car.  Spotted lots of 190sl and 300sl but no Pagodas , then saw one in the mercedes commercial and so I knew they were out there just had to find one.  Fast forward 2 years.  Took a giant leap of Faith.  Sent money to Bulgaria for a beat up one.   Waited, and waited thought maybe got taken, but then one day!  BIG PACKAGE arrives Bulgaria Postal Service stickers all over.  Beat up but it was here.  Somewhat worse for wear but I knew it was going to be a project.  So started frame off this week will update with pix as a refurbish (or in some cases fabricate ) parts.

This right here and Georgem's post about his car talking to him really proves how obsessed we all are about these cars!
That looks like a fun project   :D

Bumpers done.. used Spaz Stix model chrome paint many layers think it has good shine. Then we are going to start with some interior pieces so Tre needed to see Daddy's car interior.

Time to make the headlight covers.
So as usual one project leads to the next.  With this being a impossible to find item to start I knew I had no chance of finding a replacement headlight for the missing one, so down the rabbit hole I went.  Some you tube videos and online instruction and I race into the world of mold making.  Couple tries at molds (way harder than it looks on you tube) then a couple of tries at the resin casting, here are some finished , well almost still have to trim flashing, ones.  One more skill learned.  So the car now has euro headlight covers ..on to the leather interior.

So the proverbial " I got a guy" does interior work...wow he went above and beyond all stitched leather to match dad's, so trying to finish this weekend so at least my son can have a few outings with it before it gets too cold, or he gets too big!
