Engine running rich
« on: July 22, 2016, 00:28:40 »
Hi I have got my engine overhauled and got overhauled fuel pump from Bud's Benz. Now engine seems to be running fine from before but I still have 2 problems. 1) engine start well when cold but more difficult when already warm 2) I use CO reading and I got 13.2 on idle which is way too high where it should be 3.5-4% as I was told. Can anyone suggest anything? I literally have change almost every parts that I can think off. It is quite frustrating to get it right when you are in Bangkok and there is no real specialist here for old cars.

It is runnng rich. Make sure the engine is at operating temp when measuring. If so, Click back the injection pump idle CO screw 1 click at a time with the engine off!!  Then restart and retest. Make sure your air filter is clean as a plugged air filter will cause high CO readings as well.

Make sure that the engine linkages are correct! Did you read "The Linkage Tour" ?

Hello,
Check :
Linkage
Leaking injectors
Leaking pressure valves on IP
Cold start injection valve on manifold (with test light) and cold start valve sensor action (still in or out after start).

Best regards.

After linkage fixed car runs perfect. Now have to sort out CSV. By disable it the car start much better.
