127 030 70 01  standard trans or 127 030 71 01 for auto. It's very possible that the numbers may have changed over the past 50 years. These are part numbers and what you find on your crank may be different as they will likely be casting numbers which are different than part numbers.

What is wrong with your crank?

As long as yours is a standard transmission, a 219 ponton crankshaft is the same also.  Possibly  early 60's Mercedes Unimogs (404S) gasoline engine, also used the same crankshaft.

Srisant: Can you provide the forging number on your crank?  I have a crankshaft, forging number R127 031 0001, which has been turned to .020" undersize on rods and .010" on mains.  It is listed on eBay (dollarjon) as "Mercedes Benz 230SL 220SE Reground Crankshaft 10/20 M127 113" with pictures for $299USD obo.  Some of my research show it will fit an early 230SL but I'd really like for one of our more experienced members to confirm that.  Also, I'd be happy to have a local machine shop look at it to confirm my measurements.  $200 FOB Norfolk VA USA  Jon

Thanks for all the help. My mechanic managed to find the crank and waiting to be installed. Will report the dyno results when all up and running.

Hello Srisant,

I would like to add on Joe's comment.
Basically you can use every 220 or 230 (inline-6 gasoline engine) crank for your M127II
as long as you make sure to use your flywheels and re-balance the crank well.
This is of utmost importance for your crank !

Good luck
