Looking for advice on 250SL California Coupe
« on: November 27, 2016, 01:20:08 »
It was a sunny day so I had my 1967 250SL California Coupe parked in my driveway while I was cleaning out the garage.

A man pulls over and walks up to me.  He tells me that his uncle had a 1971 280SL, that its always been his dream to own that style of car, that he was a cash buyer and that he wanted to know if there was a number I'd be willing to sell it to him.

I've owned car for about 15 years and drive it a few times a week.  While it is definitely not concours condition, it is an extremely reliable daily driver that I like to drive, but I've never treated it like a collector car.  Its something fun that I drive around in on sunny days.

Can anyone here give me their knee jerk reaction on value?

Not without a better idea what your car looks like. As a rule, the coupe version doesn't bring as much money even though it's almost the same car.

Have a quick look around the net and work out what a replacement car would cost you. Not one the same as yours, but the one that ticks your boxes.
You now know how much you want for your car
