Washer pump
« on: December 24, 2016, 14:27:47 »
I've d my car out for some Christmas chores (no Christmas tree on the roof) and on the filthy damp roads, my washer fluid has had some use.
Trouble is that after a while, the pump, while working, is pumping nothing as the tubes (particularly reservoir to pump) are full of foam bubbles (from the cleaner fluid in the washer reservoir). Obviously the impeller of the pump can't pump air and so I get to clean my screen with Volvic!

Any thoughts as to the reason for this? The intake pipe sits at the bottom of the reservoir. I am guessing air is getting in the pipe somewhere but not a clue as to where as all the fittings seem tight etc.

Thanks
and Merry Christmas, to those who do...

I think I'd change the hose going to the fluid bottle. It likely has a hole in it you can't see.
