Rear axel boot repair

My rear axle boot has a pinprick hole in it and is leaking a little oil.  It's a relatively new boot by the looks of it and is a genuine MB one (and not a split boot either). It's isolated and there are no splits or perishing occurring and the rubber is nice and soft.  If it was easy to replace I'd just do it but given it isolated and looks like something pierced it while driving? or something I'd like to repair it.  So any suggestions? I'm thinking a bike puncture repair kit?
Any suggestions?

You may be able to get away using an oil resistant silicone. The hard part will be getting all of the oil residue out of the hole. Brake clean may work.

So ... trying to improve the leak made it worse so will change it tomorrow (split boot). I have everything except the boot clip tool but someone suggested pre bending the clips - and in a dry run it looked like this might work.  Is flexible gasket sealant acceptable as a glue or should I use something else - I thought this needs heat to set and I doubt this will get hot enough? Everyone seems so suggest something even though the BBB says not to.
