underdash paint code? grey/green?
« on: March 03, 2017, 18:33:53 »
I am touching up under the dash on a 1970 280sl which is mostly original but there is some surface rust in spot that I am removing.  I will need to respray those small areas .  The color looks to be a grey/green or dark grey, can anyone help with a paint code.  The car was originally black so I know it is not body color.  I see the grey putty but this paint is much darker and I think a green tone... I am using artificial light under dash so my color perception might be off.
Thanks, Bob

I think that it would be the original primer color.

Dear Bob,

Dr. Benz (Dan) is so right again.

Primer that's it - the greyish-green color.
You can cover that with body color - for better protection.

Good luck

Pretty close to Ditzler DP-40 epoxy primer.
