Fuel pump stopped working 10 years ago. Finally decided to replace it with an after market version(
http://www.ebay.com/itm/251731845122). Removed the sending unit and Inspected the tank and vacuumed out a small amount of debris-replaced the tank filter and the engine compartment filter, and made sure I put in 12 gallons of fresh gas to fill the flower pot. Cranked it over-not even a cough or sputter. Took the fuel filter in the engine compartment apart and turned on the key and yes fuel was being delivered. No raw gas odor coming from the tailpipe. Disconnected the air cleaner to try some starting fluid-nothing-no sputter or cough.
Noticed that the old fuel pump would stop after 5-10 seconds before engaging the starter so I knew fuel pressure was up. New pump keeps running and doesn't stop.
Next plan was to pull a plug and check for spark but can't reason why that would have disappeared just from sitting.
Anyone have any thoughts?
