Clutch pedal
«
on:

The clutch pedal on my 1964 230SL is not returning in a smooth movement after depressing. Right before reaching the top it seems to hangup for a brief moment then releases to the top.
Can it be lubricated.
Thank you,
Brian

I have the same problem on mine. Although I have a getrag transmission.
I've heard it could be the clutch spring ...... but would be good to hear someone on the forum say the same.

I would check the adjustment on the push pin coming from your pedal. It's the same idea as the one for your master cylinder and if you have too much free play your pedal will go over center and act like it's sticking. Adjust the eccentric so that the push pin extends a bit further and this condition should be fixed.

I had the sticking clutch pedal problem and finally replaced the master cylinder; end of problem.

That can be another cause for a sticky clutch pedal but it will behave in a slightly different manner. A poorly adjusted pedal will have a tendency to not want to return while a sticking master cylinder will left the pedal return but not evenly.
