Automatic Shifter Box Neck Trim Source?
« on: September 19, 2017, 21:25:39 »
I purchased a carpet kit from Budz Benz for my automatic transmission 250SL.  All of the pieces went in fine, but there was no finished trim for the automatic shifter box and the bolts remain exposed.  Is anyone aware of a trim piece, rubber or otherwise, that be slid down over the box to cover the connecting bolts and give it the finished look?  If there is such a beast do you know where they can be purchased?
Thank you...

Normally, the carpet is bound with cloth around the cut out. Maybe yours was missed during sewing.

Did a study on this. Used to be a rubber collar, but then it went to what Dan is describing - band finish. One of the members was showing a carpet being an MB spare part with band finish looking, actually, not very premium.

I never found the rubber piece. They are available for manual, but I failed to find one for automatic.

The blue interior is mine, so the finish is not, most likely 100% correct, but it should give a general idea.
