I finally found the solution this afternoon.
According to the advice of Hans, I strongly twisted the bar to 450° and maintained it with an "S"... and... it works !
Re fit the hood => everything is ok !

I took my torsion bar out last year after it had been held in place off of the car for __ years (I do not want to admit how long but more than 2) with a keeper I made from a coat hanger. I remember I had to hold on pretty tight for the 1st 180 degrees of release.

At PUB 2017 I asked about the correct finish and the consensus was black.
