Bundt wheel valve stem parts
« on: January 18, 2021, 05:48:34 »
And now for something completely different...
I've found a great deal on some original Fuchs bundt wheels and have been cleaning them up to prepare them for powder coating.
I've read about the original wheels require/use a unique metal tire valve stem (of course they do, 107-400-00-13) which is expensive to replace (of course they are, $50-60 each). The existing valves are fine, but will have to be removed for the powder coat process, so I thought it might be a good idea while they are out to replace the rubber seal on them. However, I'm having no luck finding anything but the entire valve.
Anybody know what I'm talking about here and where I could find some fresh rubber (or Viton) seals for these valve stems?
Thanks!
Gary

I got mine from Tom at the Classic Center.  I don't remember what I paid.

That's not what they sold me although it is what I was expecting.  What I got was a metal stem encased in rubber.

Thanks lowpad.
I just spoke with my dealer parts guy and he confirmed that there is no separate rubber o-ring for the valve stem sold by MB. I guess I'll remove the old one and try to find a suitable replacement.
Here's what the original looks like with the piece that slides into the groove of rim

Since the parts are cheap, I just wound up ordering several on Amazon until I found one that fit.

Just to close out this issue for future needs, I tracked down suitable replacement gaskets/seals for the original bolt-in valve stems used on the bundt wheels.
The supplier is Haltec Corporation in Ohio (800)321-6471
Part number is G-QS-SB
