The old saying is that there are 50,000 surfers in the world, and 500,000 that dress like them.
There are far more "California cars" than ever were originally shipped or sold in California. It's nearly a worthless statement that only should have one paying extra careful attention.

There are a lot of unrestorable cars destined for the crusher. Looks like this was once crushed, and dumped in the ocean (Pacific; it is a California Car) to use as a reef before someone's fishing line discovered it and brought it up.

This is clearly in the "you've got to be kidding" category.

Nothing worth saving on that car, discrepancy with the production number and the year 1970 actually a 1968 model, and the two piece hubcap rims.
All the rims are bent, two heavy side hits on drivers side from a fire?
Best to use as a very heavy and expensive door stop, or wall art.

Thought of a rollover too, but then looked at the bumper corners, all are straight and not crunched.

That pic actually cheered me up a bit...now I've seen a car that is a bit worse than the 250SL I left for dead under a tree for 5 years without hood, trunk lid, soft top cover or roof...and am now restoring as part of a deep, misguided penance.
