Identify these Tools
« on: February 09, 2018, 04:15:15 »
A while ago I purchased a box full of specialty tools as I recognized a few I wanted and many that I did not know.  I have sold off the ones that were for clearly for VW / Audi and such but have a few left that are for Mercedes.

Here are two of them that I would appreciate any help identifying if they are for our engines.  This will help me decide to keep them or sell them on to someone who can use them.

Searching the net, it seems they aid in installing the crank oil-seal.   Any further details would be appreciated.

Tools are marked M0014  AST (shorter tool),   M0061 AST    (longer tool)

Seal installer for an M102 engine.  Not for our cars.

Shvegel,

Thanks very much for the information.    Really appreciated.   So this take care of one of the tools -  M0014.

Anyone know about the longer tool, M0061?    Is this for our engines?

Thanks

Thanks Again !!  my google skills must not be great as I did not find the info on these sites until you pointed me to it.

Looking further the Sir-tools site shows the M0061 for use on M130 motor (among others) on pulley side of crank to install the oil seal.   It does not list the M127 or M129 engines with this tool.

Appreciate the help, now to decide to keep it or not.

Best,

I live a fairly tool centric life.  Adding to that I was given a garbage can full of vintage Mercedes/Porsche tools by a friend.  Trying to identify those tools taught me a lot about the various manufacturers Mercedes sources their tools from.  The key was the AST logo which is Asenmacher Specialty Tool.  “Asenmacher M0014” in Googlease.  I have the original version of the front seal installer.  It would be handy to have if you ever had to change a front seal in the car but it isn't a deal breaker without it.
