« on: April 19, 2018, 14:10:54 »
Hi guys
been chasing a noise after I assembled my driveshaft bearing for a few years.
just noticed while doing maintenance that the ring #8 spins freely it is not held in place .is this normal?
thanks

If I remember my struggle correctly and if I read the drawing correctly (with the small magnifying picture) the No. 11 is a circlip that holds No. 8.

Hi,

# 8 it is a dust cap, which is held with a Segerring, should not be loose, remedy, remove the rear shaft and remove the bearing and dust ring, measure and possibly put a spacer in between

Only tighten the clamping nut of the front propshaft by hand

Maybe you are also interested in a better gearbox
I have a six speed classic gearbox offering speeds up to 2000 rpm at 60 mls

best regrads
