Pinion Bolt Nut Removal

Which way does the pinion shaft nut come off. Can't tell because the end of the shaft is worn pretty badly.
1970 280SL/8 W113 101624 miles.

As normal, counter clockwise. Be sure to straighten the lock ring.

Thanks had to use and impact wrench to finally break it loose
1970 280SL/8 W113 101624 miles.
