pagoda 250 sl california tempreture gauge question

hi,
i have a pagoda 250sl california which has a dead water temp gauge my question is this, starpartz has  a w110 temp gauge that is the same temp reading as my gauge [250] the gauge face however doesnt have the lip around it, could i use that gauge and swap my dial face onto it? any advice very much appreciated

The W110 gauge can be easily modified to fit and work. It looks the same, when installed, as the original
