The 280SL is painted 903H Blue but commonly referred to as “China Blue”.  It’s an interesting color, you can take 10 pictures and all 10 will look a different color.  I’ve never had another car that shows such wide swings.  It can go from baby blue to dark blue.  I believe Dieter has the same color and can attest to that.  I’ve included another photo.
