Removal of hood tension spring
« on: October 03, 2018, 03:36:23 »
What I founf from searching the forum and the tech manual is that the spring can be removed after taking the hood off the car and removing the plastic plates that hold the spring it in place. Mine doesn't seem to want to go anywhere after doing the above. The end that takes a 90 degree angle to goes into the channel doesn't seem to want to get pulled out. Any advicce as how to proceed from here is greatky appreciated. Do I just pull harder and hope nothing bad happens?

Thanks
John

Hi John,
Yep, just give it a tug and the end should slip out of the elongated slot. Ensure that there is no tention on the spring and it will come out.
