Wiring diagram query
« on: September 19, 2018, 08:41:39 »
I have a problem with my CSS solenoid. The solenoid works although it appears not to have enough strength to open the throttle valve. Ive tried lubricating it with WD40. Idle is 750 in neutral. Engage drive and speed drops to 600. Slightly depress throttle pedal and idle increases to 750. So all is OK except solenoid doesn't have enough strength. Is this usual?

Secondly:-
The pressure switches work correctly BUT there is a wire that runs from the left side pressure switch into the car through the floor by the steering column. The wire is coloured green and orange.(I think)
If that wire is connected fuse 5 blows. If the wire is disconnected the system works OK
Where does that wire go and what's its function? I could cut apart the harness to answer my question but thought someone may have the answer before I do that.

On your CSS question: yes, it may happen that the CSS is losing its "vitality" with age (how do I know this?). The way I checked mine was to see how far I can pull out the rod by hand without throttle linked (what is the travel of the rod), mark it with oil marker and then see how far the rod is pushed by solenoid with throttle attached. If it pushes the same distance and it is holding - the CSS is ok. Then you would need to regulate the rpm with the nut and counter nut on the rod. Refer to Linkage Tour (adjustment) in Technical Manual Full Members zone.

Wiring: what you ask is about auto transmission wiring. You may not find it. I will PM you on this as this may be a sensitive area, you are a Full Member.

I hope your CSS is not blown. In case it is - please search the forum, but I am not sure if we have a reliable way of fixing it or buying it for a reasonable price - I mean to avoid living on beans only for two weeks...
