Gloss or flat for black paint on grill? Powder coat?

Should the black grill in front of the radiator be gloss or flat black?  Has anyone powder coated their grill to make it more impervious to rocks and chipping?

I'd say more satin than gloss.

Rustoleum painters touch semi gloss black works nicely.
