« on: October 10, 2018, 16:10:21 »
Looking for the plastic connector which connects the end of the cable from the gear
selector to the starter inhibit/ reverse light switch on the bulkhead. Uk automatic

Hello Larry,

What you might be looking for and what you refer to by the parts number is  a ball socket,
correct?

BALL SOCKET  -    A 000 991 0822     -    $0.41
Replaced by: A  608 991 0022
BALL SOCKET    -      001    A 608 991 0022     -    $3.31

Found this on Nemiga..., but cannot prove the availability from MB Classic yet.

You might want to try these numbers with your local MB dealer...

Good luck & best,

Achim

Hi,
I would assume that's a normal ball socket (plastic or metal with one or two open sides) with a M5 thread like this here: https://www.sls-hh-shop.de/main/en/mercedes-190sl-w121-/07-solex-carburetor/ball-socket-with-rt-hd-threads-p-4378.

I will try one of the throttle linkage ones and see if it fits. Could be a solution.

On my car, LHD - 250 SL, the connector for the transmission linkage cable to the neutral lock out switch has a longer shank (threaded piece) than the ones for the throttle assembly.
