It is probably not very relevant, may only slightly contribute to overall knowledge base, but not a lot of effort to share or read.
My W463 300GE (M113 engine) is 1991 manufacturing (Graz) for Austrian market. Every bolt, every washer and nut, every bracket, every bracket being part of a bigger component, e.g. wiper motor, vacuum switch, etc., every pipe I unscrewed/undone or removed was yellow plated. I simply saw the remaints of yellow plating in hidden places on those parts.
I do not remember when was the environmental regulation introduced that marked the end of yellow plating, but I was pretty surprised, actually.
