I have a complete automatic transmission that came out of a 280SL that I would like to sell. The transmission needs the front pump reworked as the tabs on the inner gear are wiped. The convertor tabs are bent and can probably be straightened. The only other known issue is the woodruff key on the output shaft needs to be replaced otherwise the regulator and speedometer drives may not work. I had disassembled and reassembled the transmission and the clutches and gears all appear to be in good shape.
I would like to get $1000 for the transmission. This is less than the core cost so if you need a core this might help. It is possible that the transmission can be fixed and used largely as is. It may take a trip to a good machine shop to sort out the front pump/convertor tabs.
I have included photos show the transmission, internals, and problem areas.
Thanks,
Mike
