Stan Hywet Father's Day Car Show
« on: June 02, 2022, 20:10:21 »
Not a particular Pagoda event, but a nice event for us enthusiasts in North East Ohio. The Father's Day Car Show is coming again to Stan Hywet on Sunday June 19.
Last Year, I met Ted Gottfried showing his red 190SL
I am in talks with a few Porsche friends and I may show my 914-6GT

Mike,

Is this Stan Hywet a big estate in Akron?   I judge dog shows and I’m pretty sure I was there for the Rubber City Kennel Club show many years ago.  If it’s the same spot, it’s really quite beautiful.

Yes, that’s definitely the place where I judged.  The grounds there are very lovely and I would think it would be an amazing venue for a car show.  I distinctly remember how nicely clipped the lawns were.

This year's event was a little disappointing for me. Very personal, I am sure most visitors liked it, there was a huge crowd. I do not have a passion for anything produced before I was born, I do not care much for American Muscle from the 60s. What was left for me to get excited to see were some Porsches - a real nice yellow Ruf, a converted-to-GT looks '74 914-4, quite a few Alfa Romeos.
On the Benz front. the same participants as last year, Ted Gottfried with his 190SL and the 230SL from Kent - see pictures above. One other car, a 1971 280SE 3.5.
