North American International Auto Show
« on: January 09, 2005, 09:32:32 »
Gents,

If you love all cars, you might be interested to know that the "mother" of all auto shows is about to begin.  The North American International Auto Show opens for media week tomorrow in Detroit; charity black tie affair this coming Friday, and opens to the public next Saturday.  It is by far the largest automobile show in the world--yes larger then NY, LA, Geneva, Frankfurt and Tokyo shows.  Many of the car companies save their introductions for this one; MB is introducing two vehicles there.

Michael,

I went two years ago (2003) and two years before that (2001) for ANY car enthusiast is certainly worth the price of admission ($15.00?)and then some.

Some friends and I went to the first day of the show this year. We had gone several years back, and thought that waiting a bit for a repeat was reasonable. It is pure sensory overload. Lots of cars, lots of people, lots and lots of plain neat stuff.

The McLaren supercar was awesome. The pictures in the magazines to do not even come close to doing the car justice. It has overpowering presence. The Maybachs weren't bad either.
