Bolts that hold the fuel pump cover
« on: August 11, 2019, 06:10:01 »
I am missing the fuel pump cover, long pump, and the 3 shouldered bolts that go through the trunk pan on my 69280 SL. I can find the cover easy enough but not the special bolts. Anyone have a source ? Thx

These are special bolts with a square clip built into the head of the bolt. They secure into a square hole in the trunk floor. Your local MB dealer can order them for you. Also I think I saw them on the Authentic Classics website.

I used regular bolts, about $4 for 10.

One important feature of these bolts and the mounting of the fuel pump housing/cover are the seals, otherwise water may enter the trunk at these three points

On top of the sealing feature, they also look "civilised" in the trunk and, as they click in place, one pair of hands is enough to install them.

I sealed the holes with a washer. They are covered by the rubber trunk floor mat so invisible.
