Hi everyone,
there are two slim chrome trim pieces that attach to the front/lower edge of the piece of leather (or Tex) that accents the soft top compartment lid. The leather curls down toward the parcel shelf and is tucked in by these two chrome trim pieces. When you open the compartment lid, these chrome accents are quite prominent as the boundary between what's visible on the outside of the compartment lid to the black inner part of the compartment lid that's not usually visible. I hope this isn't confusing -- would a photo help?
So I have two questions. One, is there supposed to be a clip or joint where the two chrome trim pieces meet in the middle? Photos I've found so far indicate there was no such clip; the two chrome pieces butt up against each other with a tight but noticeable boundary. Second, how the heck do these two chrome trim pieces stay on in the first place? They're upside down, so gravity is pulling at them all the time. Are there pointy bits that go through the leather to hold the chrome trim piece securely? Or what?
Thanks!
