I have just uploaded the latest jack tag pdf that I used to create my jack tag in the above post. It is located in the restricted content section.
https://www.sl113.org/wiki/Restricted/StartI made changes after I was lucky enough to see a real one from a 67 250 SL. The tag is made up of thicker brown fibrous card stock. The color and size have been adjusted from Alpinaltd's original file.
The original jack tag is much thicker than I expected. It's not flimsy paper.
I printed the tags using #100 card stock at Fedex. Placing the two halves together was still not thick enough to match the original. I ended up sandwiching thin cardboard material between the back and front halves. This cardboard material can be found using beer/coke bottle dividers or such. It is the same thickness as the cardboard box of a 12 pack. Adding the inner cardboard actually made the reproduction 99.9% perfect.
Sandwich the front, inner card stock, baker's twine, and back and you will be good to go.
The red/white baker's twine can be found at Party City, Target or on Ebay (search: bakers twine)
