Jack Tag

Are the reproduction jack tags that were offered at PagodaFest San Diego available to those of us who were unfortunately not able to attend the event?

I need to post the new updated PDF file with the correct dimensions and artwork changes.  I made some changes to Alpinaltd's file after I was able to see an original. You  can easily make your own. 

I even simulated 50 years of grime🤣🤣🤣

What did you print the image on?

I used 60 pound paper. The peppermint string is available at almost any craft store (I found it here in SoCal at Michael's)

I have just uploaded the latest jack tag pdf that I used to create my jack tag in the above post.  It is located in the restricted content section.

I made changes after I was lucky enough to see a real one from a 67 250 SL. The tag is made up of thicker brown fibrous card stock.  The color and size have been adjusted from Alpinaltd's original file.

The original jack tag is much thicker than I expected.  It's not flimsy paper.

I printed the tags using #100 card stock at Fedex.  Placing the two halves together was still not thick enough to match the original.  I ended up sandwiching thin cardboard material between the back and front halves.  This cardboard material can be found using beer/coke bottle dividers or such.  It is the same thickness as the cardboard box of a 12 pack. Adding the inner cardboard actually made the reproduction 99.9% perfect.

Sandwich the front, inner card stock, baker's twine, and back and you will be good to go.

The red/white baker's twine can be found at Party City, Target or on Ebay (search: bakers twine)

It took me a great deal of time and effort to create all of the decals / Engineering tags. These decals if purchased
from third parties would cost you well in excess of the of the full membership fee. 

I donated all the files produced to the group, on the understanding they would be for full members only.
This was intended give an added incentive to become a full member and in turn support the group.
I did not have to share my project. I could have easily have sold the decals, but I choose share to fellow members here.

Is there a particular location where the jack tags are supposed to be found? Or are they just tied on to the jack itself any old way?

I do not understand what is the tag explaining.

I have the jack on this picture (280SL 1969).
Does the tag belong to this jack?

The jack tag being discussed here is for the earlier style jack  (230sl,  250sl,  and early 280sl).
