How many degrees on 280 sl 1969

Hello I am new and just got a 69 280sl it didnt run well ,extremely rich ,so I send my pump to be rebuild and changed the six injectors as the car is 160,000 km (100,000 miles).
I put new spark cables and paltinum and coil .
I went to do the right linkage on the butterfly that was open and on the mechanical pump too that was very opened and now the sparks look right but i have lack of power and slow response.
I been triying to find the correct timing as i cannot find a mark on the pulley and also i am not shure how many degrees do i need to put the engine with the timming lamp
Is it 30 or 38?
And Also want to know the calibration gap for sparks

Be sure you are using the correct timing scale. Some years had two scales on the front engine dampner. If you have two scales, they are off-set 40 degrees so you need to use the correct one for timing your engine. If you have a factory workshop manual (BBB) go to "00-7/2" to identify your version. Otherwise you can remove #1 spark plug to see when the piston is on top (TDC). At this point your timing pointer should be near "0" on the correct scale. Most of us use 30BTDC at 3,000 RPMS for timing.  Spark plug gap, factory setting is .028" , some use more gap when up-graded ignition components are used. Use non-resistor spark plugs for these engines.

I use 38 degrees full advance. Meaning, as much as all of your combined advance systems will move inside of your distributor. 30 degrees is only as much as what your distributor will move and you need to add your ignition timing amount at idle to come up with total or full advance.

If you have a late ignition system with two black relays in the engine bay your timing advance will work differently but you should still have about 38 degrees at full advance. Any less, regardless of which distributor you use, will result in a lack of power.

I usally adjustment at idle speed, 3 degrees ATDC, but I use a 123 ignitions, otherwise it forest be 3 BTDC.
