Gear knob

With the fear of getting excluded and banned from the community because of asking a stupid question: "How do I remove the knob from the gear lever on a manual transmission"??? Sorry, but i just cannot work it out...
Thanks
Ulrik

Thanks Ulrik. I was just gonna ask the question myself but now, if they will ban anyone, you're first on the list and me, second.

Pull straight up on the knob. Don't turn it. You'll strip it if you do.

Also, try to make sure the knob doesn't split into two halves when you pull on it. It can do that right at the seam.

Ulrich,
Put a pair of pliers below the knob and loosely aroung the shaft. Tap the underside of the pliers gently and the knob should pop off.
