Steering Column Switch (or Multifunction Switch) For 230sl (early)

Hi folks.
This is my first attempt at the forum, so fingers crossed!!

So, the second speed on my wiper switch doesn’t work. Does anyone know of anyone in the UK who could refurbish such items?

Alternatively does anyone have a rhd steering column switch hidden in the back of their shed which they don’t need? On reading the forum, it appears the later switches, ie 280sl, are not suitable, presume the 250 switch may also not be compatible.
Any thought greatly appreciated

Are you sure it is the Multi function switch at fault, and not the Wiper Relay (17)/ 50 year old connections / wiper motor (16) ?

Incidentally, did you buy the original car you were looking at last year, or did you look at a few others first ?.

Thanks for the tip, all I know is that the second speed for wiper didn’t work, so just presumed it was the stalk, given my experiences in the past is that whatever goes wrong, it’s usually the most expensive bit that needs replacing!!

I did look at a few 230sl’s but did go back to the one in the SL shop. I forgot my husband has an old family friend who specialises in high end classic car restorations, so one of his top chaps went and inspected the car. So certainly went in with eyes wide open when the negotiations started 

I’ve passed your suggestion on, so hopefully that will be a cheaper solution
