Hello everyone! I am in the final stage of my 2.5 years restoration of my 280 SL and have now hit the (hopefully) last challenge before I can start and test drive the car. When trying to bleed the brakes it turned out that the brake force regulator did not allow liquid to get to both of the rear calipers. No matter how hard I have been pushing the pedal - no reaction. So I took it to a mechanic who put in new seals, cleaned it and also put in a new piston: same issue.
I now seem to have two choices: buy a NOS regulator at 600.00 or use a single standard regulator (60.00) plus a distributor t-piece. I think the switching threshold for the factory regulator is 35 bar.
Has anybody done this before and / or are there any other factors to pay attention to? Is my assumption correct that I can use a standard regulator as long as the connections fit and the specs show the correct regulator pressure threshold?
Thank you very much for your insights,
Jan
