Little fase fuse #6
« on: May 12, 2020, 12:02:11 »
Yesterday I noticed that my heater stopped blowing and this morning the car was very hard to start - then naturally I checked the fuse #6 (25a) that corresponds with both, but found to my annoyance that this one is different from the others (that I have tons of) - it's only half the length. Does anyone know where I can get this (preferably in Europe) or how I can bypass it to start the car and get home?

Thanks, I really looked for it but couldn't find any threads covering it :-)

Hi Ulf,
What I have done in the past when I had a problem with fuse 6 blowing, and not having the short 25amp fuse.
Was with tweezers carefully remove the metal fuse wire from the short fuse. So now you have a blank fuse with no wire.
Take a regular length 25amp fuse and again carefully remove the wire.  Now attach the longer wire to the shorter
Blank fuse, attach the top and bottom cap,  now carefully fold the wire between the caps for a secure fit.
It worked perfectly for me. Worth a go if like you can’t wait.  Good luck.
