Power steering Bracket 1965 230 sl
« on: June 07, 2020, 23:59:08 »
Installing p/s on my 1965 MB230SL.  The bracket that came with my parts doesn't seem to fit.  Having a problem lining the bolt holes in the from of the engine with the lower bracket that attaches to the crankcase.  Anyone have this issue?  Any suggestions would be appreciated.

I just spoke to someone and was told my pump and bracket came from a 1962 MB 220SE.  Can anyone confirm if this will fit the 1965 MB 230SL.

Other than physical fit, you have to make sure the pump's flow and pressure setting are correct for the SL. I cannot access my old records right now, but I would try to find out, if the 220SE part number differs from the 230SL one. The pump's relief pressure should be stamped on the tag, if it is still original.

Thank you for your reply and information.  When dealing with the challenges of repairing / restoring a classic MB, the smallest piece information can be a hugh help.
