Most rediculous Part price yet.
« on: June 18, 2020, 17:17:24 »
I was looking for parts for my restoration and on a reputable site I found a new rear view mirror for the inside of the car for only $2400.  I won’t name the source but I assume the price reflects Mercedes pricing.

A guy I know once sent a letter to MB asking if the people who decide on parts pricing were smoking crack before they got to work. As far as I know, he hasn't received an answer yet.

Looks like someone is trying to exploit the hell out of Pagodas and their parts.  This mirror was used on so many models.  There is no reason it should be more than a $300-$400 part.  Granted, I'm referring to the later plastic mirror, not the early chrome mirrors or the "in the middle" ones that had a plastic head and chrome stalk.  I only hope the seller realizes that karma is a B&*^h, and that greed never has a happy ending.

I bought a 'good as new' used one years ago on Ebay for $50. That's as much as they should be new.

I’m starting to really mistrust my local
MB dealer. Had to go to them for a number of missing or odd pieces lately.

Recently I had to order the injector pump throttle rod.  Thin simple rod without the connector ends. I was shocked When I ordered it to be told it was $75 list and $67.50 with my MB club discount.  When I picked it up they charged me the full $75 and showed it as a $99 list price. Trying to make me
Think I got a great discount.

Found them to charge me double the prices shown on the nemiga.com parts listing.

I am sure someone in China is itching to supply us with that $2400.00 mirror for $49.95 includes shipping.

Hi John,

That same local MB dealer years ago wanted to charge me $150 + tax & shipping for 3 keys. I said forget it.  Classic Center $30 for all keys.
