Hi people,
I have just joind the forum as I am about to purchase one of a choice of a few pagoda's from Germany and import it to Turkey where I plan to re-build or just do-up according to its condition. As finging spares will be difficult in Istanbul I plan to choose one which the engine and ground work is in relative condition rest should be ok to do here. I would love to receive any advise you would have for me as I love this car and have to do it.
One other question is that I remember either Discovery or National Geographic having a documantery on thr Pagoda, do you have any info on it?

I don't know of any pagoda program on those two channels, but there was a 50 minute documentary in 2001 on The History Channel called Automobiles- The Mercedes-Benz SL.  It covers the 300SL to the 450SL witha nice section on the pagoda.  Catalog # AAE-40139.
I was just in Istanbul in September and had a very nice visit.  Good luck with your pagoda.
