This is an interesting find. Apparently, the seller has been storing this old piece of OEM wood for many years. It's nice to see what the original wood looks like when it's been kept out of the sun. It's one of the dark ones:

Interesting. I thought that only one shade was available.

Does anyone know how much variation there are/were in the wood trim in terms of color?

Getting mine refurb and like the darker shade to go with the black interior but don't want to stray too far.

Also saw a set sold on Ebay Germany with a highly polished burlwood finish.  Looks really really good (like the 220s interior) eventhough they are not 113 originals.  Here's the link:

Low final price on the full German Ebay set.

I bought my new dash wood unstained/unfinished from Van Dijk's and just applied some light wood wax to it. Maybe not the best treatment for it, but it looks great (a matte finish) after 4 years. The car is parked indoors most of the time of course, so I don't know what prolonged exposure to the sun would do to it. The wood is a light shade which I personally prefer over the dark stain/varnish colors.
