Dear all,
The restoration of my Pagoda 230SL is going to the next stage.
The engine is disassembled, few corroded aluminum parts fixes (see pictures and give you opinion please)
All aluminum parts blasted with fine glass beads. They look like new after blasting and I would like to protect them for future tarnish.
Of course I want the have show /concourse effect. ;-)
So, I decided to protect them with clear 75% glossy high class auto coat from DuPont and the final look don’t make me happy (attached pictures). The parts became little bit darker than raw aluminum and I believe this is not correct look for a concourse.
Most probably will blast them again, but my question is how to preserve engine aluminum parts in order to have original look?
I found in forum discussion about layering with Nyalic - special clear coat protectant, withstand temperatures till 177 C. I found it in UK, but still not ordered.
What is your opinion about Nyalic, should it change the color after apply?
How the preserve exhaust manifold ? It is cast iron and must the applied with something else more temperature resistant. Any suggestions?
Best Regards from Bulgaria
Ivan
