Sunday drive
« on: December 01, 2020, 16:43:08 »
It was a pleasant Sunday here with temps in the mid 60s so we took our car out for a spin. A bit on the cool side for the navigator so the heater did it's job on keeping everyone comfortable.

Looking great, John.  We had a high of 44 degrees F today with a low of 24 last night.  Hope this cold snap passes soon so that we can hit the road again!

One of these days we should meet for a socially distant lunch in the foothills.  Rick Iknoian and I took our Pagodas to Bass Lake last week and enjoyed the warmer than usual afternoon weather.

Perfect scenery, Gentlemen!
 ;) :D ;D

No way we could do this in old DE as well.
It's snowy over here.

Good luck with the late summer in CA

Sounds good. Maybe we can plan something for in the spring when hopefully we will be vaccinated. When I saw you guys were at Bass Lake I thought you were near me down at the Bass Lake (more like a pond) in El Dorado Hills but then I realized there was another Bass Lake (a REAL lake) down south.

And to Ralph and Achim, Yes, still summer like weather continues here although it was a brisk 24 when I got up Sunday morning. Our car was happy to get out of the cold garage for that afternoon drive. We here in CA could sure use some of your winter weather as we have had less then 2" of rain since May and the snow pack up in the mountains is dismal. High Winds in the southern part of the state today have forced 1000s of power shutoffs to reduce the chance of wild fires but a few have started anyway.

As it was 68ºF this afternoon, I pulled out the Pagoda and blasted around the foothills.  It was a lovely afternoon with some tight turns and big smiles.  Grass Valley is only 3.5 hours away via 99, but I prefer to stay off the main highways.  We could meet somewhere in between along Hwy 49 for a socially distant lunch outside, unless Governor Gruesome imposes further ridiculous restrictions.  Perhaps in Sonora?  In a study of cases in LA, only 3% of the cases originated in a restaurant.  Let's see how the weather is next week and I'll PM both of you and Rick Iknoian.

I did the same thing yesterday, took Rt 174 to Colfax and came back using Dog Bar Rd. Beautiful ride, about an hour or so.

Last month on Sunday November 8 four Pagoda's got together (Dave, Hugh, Dieter, Peter and his wife Diane) for a nice sunny drive just south of London Ontario, Canada. Notice the Red (Dave), White (Hugh) and Blue (Dieter) Pagoda line up, we celebrated the American Election final and to that end keept this colour formation during our drive-thru Port Staneley with Peter and Diane's white Pagoda following. Hugh found Dave in Port Staneley. Anyway Dave runs several nice B&B's in Port Stanely and he took us on a grand tour of this nice little town to spots we have never seen. At the end we all relaxed at Dave's place by a beverage and some snacks.

Hello Dieter, Looks like lovely weather and a beautiful spot for a get together. I noticed that even to Pagodas practiced "social Distancing" and thanks for "flying" the Red, White and Blue :).
